Dr. Sanjay Mehrotra | Co-Authors: Mr. Abhigya Dwivedi

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most influential technological innovations of the twenty-first century, fundamentally transforming the way businesses operate, compete, and create value. The rapid advancement of AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, robotics, and predictive analytics, has significantly influenced the fields of commerce and management by improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experiences, and supporting strategic decision-making. Organizations across various industries are increasingly integrating AI-powered systems to automate routine tasks, optimize supply chain operations, personalize marketing strategies, strengthen financial planning, and improve human resource management.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence has not only increased productivity but has also enabled businesses to gain valuable insights from large volumes of structured and unstructured data, thereby facilitating informed and data-driven managerial decisions. AI-driven applications such as intelligent chatbots, virtual assistants, recommendation systems, fraud detection mechanisms, demand forecasting, and customer relationship management platforms have revolutionized traditional business practices and introduced innovative business models. These advancements have enabled organizations to achieve higher levels of competitiveness, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction in an increasingly dynamic global marketplace. This study aims to examine the multidimensional impact of Artificial Intelligence on commerce and management by exploring its applications, benefits, challenges, and future prospects. It analyzes how AI contributes to improving business performance, enhancing managerial efficiency, reducing operational costs, and supporting sustainable organizational growth. The paper also investigates the role of AI in transforming marketing, finance, human resource management, logistics, retail, and strategic planning while highlighting its influence on digital transformation and business innovation.

Furthermore, the study discusses the major challenges associated with AI implementation, including data privacy concerns, cybersecurity threats, ethical issues, algorithmic bias, workforce displacement, regulatory compliance, and the need for skilled human resources. It emphasizes that although AI presents significant opportunities for economic growth and business development, organizations must adopt responsible AI governance, transparent decision-making processes, and ethical business practices to maximize its benefits while minimizing potential risks.

The findings of this research suggest that Artificial Intelligence is no longer merely a technological advancement but a strategic business asset that is redefining the future of commerce and management. As AI technologies continue to evolve, organizations that successfully integrate intelligent systems into their business operations will be better positioned to achieve innovation, long-term competitiveness, and sustainable growth in the digital economy. The study concludes that the future success of commerce and management will largely depend on the effective collaboration between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, creating a balanced ecosystem where technology enhances, rather than replaces, human capabilities.
